On the occasion of the 300th anniversary of Immanuel Kant's birth, Dr. Fiete Kalscheuer had the opportunity to write a guest article on Kant's legal doctrine and fundamental rights for the "Einspruch" section of the Frankfurter Allgemeine Zeitung (F.A.Z.).

In his article, Dr. Kalscheuer presents the parallels between Kant's general legal law and the general freedom of action protected under Article 2 (1) of the German Basic Law (GG).

Kant was already of the opinion that even supposedly banal actions or even supposedly immoral actions enjoy legal protection. Dr. Kalscheuer explains the consequences of this view using current cases.

Dr. Kalscheuer has already dealt with Kant's legal doctrine and the constitutional protection of general freedom of action as part of his doctoral thesis. He is part of the constitutional law department at BROCK MÜLLER ZIEGENBEIN and advises in this function together with Charlotte Gaschke and Dr. Nicolas Harding.
